A philosopher and father of progressive education, John Dewey once said, “Democracy must be born anew in each generation, and education is its midwife.” The original calling of higher education system was always for public purpose and a civic mission but as time changes, the education system had also evolved.
For the past two or three decades, we had experienced a profound social transformation in which intellectual capital is the key to security and social well being. This is the age whereby knowledge-educated people and innovative ideas have become an important strategic commodity. Work force of today needs to invest in higher learning or education if they want to stay competitive and relevant in the market place. Therefore, for any education institute to be successful, they must have the ability to prepare and equip their fresh graduates for specific careers.
Inti International University College in Malaysia is quick to realize this objective recently by introducing a program, “Enrolment 2 Employment(E2E)”. They believed this program is in line with the Government National Education Policy Plan that is able to deliver the following set of objectives:-
• Expose its students and lecturers on the best practices, corporate governance/standards and work environments of the industries.
• Align its curriculum and coursework activities according to the expectation of the industries and relevant to the market needs and demands.
• Prepare and equip its students with all the relevant technical skills and soft skills needed by the industries that will make its graduates highly regarded by future employers.
• Develop and provide timely support and services for student industrial attachment and graduate internship placement and job placement.
• Widen, strengthen, concretize and sustain their industrial collaboration, linkages and relationships with various industries or private and government institutes via round-table dialogues, industry visitations, R&D work, internships/apprenticeship and corporate training.
Allyhunt has the privilege to participate as one of their industry partners and was invited to attend their Industrial Linkages & Collaborations Launching Ceremony, officiated by YB Mr Ng Lip Yong, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry Malaysia, this morning. Many companies that had participated in this program further testified the appropriateness and timeliness of such initiative.
Bravo, Inti! Allyhunt wishes you a successful program and hope to see your quick thinking and hard labor reaping its fruits one day! As for the students in Inti, you don’t know how lucky you are!
